Jean-Pierre Ady Fenyo (July 23, 1964 - ) is an independent self-educated Philosopher, author and intellectual. It is hard to classify him, but some would
say his ideas are a mix of aspects of Relativism, Empiricism, Ethical Absolutism and Rationalism, with some aspects of Pantheism in his Metaphysical
ideas. He is neither an Atheist nor a Dogmatist and has labeled himself as a Infinite Dualistic Realist. Fenyo's most original philosophical work, "The Most
Important Thought" (based on an earlier copyrighted work titled "Infinitism: Secret Key to the Doors of Wisdom", Silver Line Books, 1994), is on the
practical intellectual and socio-psychological benefits of contemplating the infinite. During the 1980s he lived in New York City, mostly in Greenwich
Village, where he became a contemporary of avant-garde artists and intellectuals, including his late friends Quentin Crisp, Andy Warhol, Jean Michel
Basquiat to name a few. He wrote thought-provoking poetry, short fiction and invented a form of painting called Oboidism, the result of ink-laden bubbles
on watercolor and magazine paper. Among those philosophers and intellectuals that have influenced his ideas are Spinoza, Jean Jacques Rousseau,
Jefferson, Thomas, Giordano Bruno, Mohandas Gandhi and Albert Einstein. His first claim to fame was at the age of 23 as The Original New York City
Free Advice Man or simply, as written up in The New Yorker (August 17, 1987), The Free Advice Man, was as a street-corner sidewalk Socratic thinker
whose sign was an invitation for practically anyone to engage him in a deep Socratic dialogue about virtually any topic. He has since gained recognition
as a progressive political thinker within the Democratic Party and contributes regularly to the DNC BLOG-site. However, his main activity is as Founder &
Director of The Infinity Society (Universal & International). Further information about him can be found at Wikinfo.org and his organization is listed with
Idealist.org and on Epistemelinks.com
Some things he is known to say:
"Infinity is the most important thought and Love is the most important emotion." "Each and every person is infinitely unique!" "It is the responsibility of
those who are already enlightened to enlighten others." "Do unto others as they really want to be done unto or do not unto them anything at all."
"Homelessness is a prison without walls, windows, toilets and showers." "Infinity is infinitely more than you ever imagined it could be!" "Though we are of
different complexions of skin our shadows are of the same shade." "Those who are denied the means to do good will do bad!" "Those who think that
those who are ignorant should already know any better are no less ignorant." "Having nothing is infinitely better than being nobody." "When I was little I
used to think that Physicians were people who fizzed a lot."

ANNOTATION:
LIFE IS ITS OWN MEANING
When we ponder the question: What is the meaning of life?, we often forget to envisage the context in which the question arises. If by this question we
wish to know the meaning of life in general, without reference to the specific of our own subjective experience, then we must include the notion of
"existence" before and beyond life. To my way of thinking, given that the universe of universes must be infinite (see my Social Psychological Implications
of the Concept of Infinity), life is "existence" experiencing physics. My great forebear-in-thought, Sir Baruch Benedict Spinoza, made some very thorough
arguments in favor of non-superiority-centric pantheism. In effect, he was the then European man's American Indian...in that he thought of a great
combined spirit, of which each and every living organism is a manifestation of. To my way of thinking, we all are part of this combined soul, Great Spirit,
made of no thing but of itself, a non-physical entity. Explaining why we cannot ever prove its existence physically!!! Physics in of itself has no meaning,
for it is without self-reference, without consciousness....cold and devoid of emotion. But a "blob" of soul, of the Great Spirit, can enter into a plasmic
mass and begin to ever-so-slightly "manipulate" physics into super-organic forms, first as single-cell life-forms and then, by the processes of evolution,
into multi-cellular entities. Each as diverese as the circumstances, internal and external, allow.... And so, given this model of evolutionary-self-creation
we have LIFE!!! Life is the way by which soul or spirit experiences physicality!!! The soul or spirit not combining with physics cannot experience physical
existence... And so, the meaning of life is LIFE ITSELF!!! We search in vain for an ulterior purpose or motive, whilst we waste our time not exploring the
full measure of LIFE AS IT CAN AND SHOULD BE...: FREE YET CONSTRAINED, TOLERANT YET CAUTIOUS, LOVING YET RESPECTFUL.... SEXUAL
YET MUTUAL.... Sex and related erotic-sensuality are the penultimate art of LIFE, even when seemingly strictly done as a process of procreation. LIFE
IS MEANT TO BE LIVED, not destroyed by its own self.... And as regards our very own form of life, the mammalian, higher primate species....we are
supposed to be strongly social, semi-monogamous (meaning semi-polygamous...i.e. having, if possible, a stable partner and yet having the relative
freedom to enjoin others), capable of violence in situations where the balances required for healthy living have been lost, and yet capable of restoring
the balances needed to regain and maintain pro-social behavior... SO, there you have it, NO GOD CREATOR/DESTROYER, NO INTENTIONAL ILL
WILL, JUST IGNORANCE AND MENTAL ILLNESS, NO SENSE IN WASTING OUR TIME TRYING TO FIND LINNEAR REASONS FOR THE MEANING OF
LIFE, NO NEED TO DENY EACH INDIVIDUALS RIGHT TO DEFINE THE PURPOSE OF THEIR SPECIFIC, SUBJECTIVE LIFE IN RELATION TO THE
GENERAL, OBJECTIVE PURPOSE.... Finally, my advice: THINK ABOUT INFINITY (IN ITS UTMOST FORMS), LAUGH A LOT, LIVE LONG AS POSSIBLE
HEALTHILY, SEEK PEACE AND PROSPERITY FOR ALL YOUR FELLOW BEINGS.

War on stealth terrorism - Opinion
by Jean-Pierre Ady Fenyô
November 01, 2001 08:00 am
First of all; all terrorism is plain wrong, inexcusable and always backfires. The World Trade Center and other terror attacks of September 11 were the
worst yet experienced, not just by the United States but by the whole world.
First of all; all terrorism is plain wrong, inexcusable and always backfires. The World Trade Center and other terror attacks of September 11 were the
worst yet experienced, not just by the United States but by the whole world.
Given their relative sudden and shocking impact, they cannot be compared with other atrocities that have happened in the course of human history. They
stand in a category all their own.
And though the number of innocents murdered is relatively small when compared with the millions who were murdered by the Nazis and Fascists in the
Second World War, by Stalinism, or by Pol Pot, Idi Amin or other mentally ill megalomaniacs, the WTC attack, in itself, has probably done more to harm
the stability of the entire world than any other event in human history and will probably contribute heavily to worsening famines, epidemics and thus
deaths worldwide, especially in the world?s weakest economies (mostly in Africa, Asia, South America and Eastern Europe).
Whether these sick people realized that their actions would harm many more innocent people than rich American capitalist sharks is questionable.
Nevertheless, their goal, and that of al Qaeda, cannot be allowed to be attained. What they want is nothing less than the destruction of relatively
democratic societies worldwide and the creation of their convoluted version of Islamic Zion or "Heaven on Earth".
A "heaven" in which women are dehumanized, abused and murdered, children are brainwashed into a life of perpetual and meaningless violence and
individual identity and rights are virtually non-existent (sounds like a form of Nazism to me).
That they also claim to champion the Palestinians? right to self-determination is simply a minor aspect of their agenda and is shameful opportunism at its
worst.
Their terrorist acts have actually harmed the Palestinian cause more than any biased US policy could ever have (this is also the opinion of many
educated Palestinians, most of whom have condemned these horrible atrocities as cowardly and insane). Clearly my goal is to help fight terrorism and
thus all the horror it represents.
Secondly; any attempt by prejudiced people and groups to make this conflict a much wider and more dangerous conflict between the Christian world and
Islam should also be condemned.
For while it is true that, of the 1.2 billion Muslims in the world, a significant percentage (perhaps as much as 40%), especially among the poor and
uneducated, blindly praise bin Laden and his murderous network, it must also be pointed out that the vast majority of the more influential and educated
Muslims share in the world?s outrage and determination to neutralize the ability of these terrorists to do harm (even if it means killing them).
Furthermore, the Islamic world is far from being a homogeneous mass. Not only are there significant differences between Sunnites and Shiites, but there
are significant differences and even violent rifts between different interpretations of Sunnite Islam itself (as well as within the Shiite branch).
And these two main branches are just the two largest of Islamic doctrines amongst a great number of smaller branches.
For there are the relatively peaceful Sufis and Druze, not to mention the universalist Bahaii and the semi-Islamic Sikhs (who though also partly followers of
Hinduism are also partly followers of Islam).
And while indeed Islam is generally less peace-oriented than original root Judaism and more male-chauvinist than most of Christianity, there is no
historical evidence to suggest that Islam is any more violence-ridden than Christianity or Judaism.
True enough, Islam and poverty do not mix well and both Indonesia and Egypt suffer greatly from the spread of extremist religious doctrines.
All in all, those who are crazy enough to seriously contemplate waging war on all of the Islamic world are really no better and no less irresponsible than
the terrorists of al Qaeda.
Clearly my goal also includes helping defend innocent people caught in the crossfire of ideas.
Having made all that as clear as possible let there be no doubt about the following: Whatever happens, the world must neither appease terrorism nor
appease what I call stealth terrorism.
By stealth terrorism I mean actions or neglect on the part of the developed nations of the world towards the under-developed nations and peoples of the
world that cause or allow for such levels of poverty, war, crime and corruption.
As Gandhi, one of my role models, would probably have put it; there is the obvious violence of actual war and then there is the silent form of violence we
know as poverty and the horrors that poor people barely live through, and often die of, each and every day of their abused or neglected lives.
For I am certain that even if, by some miracle of international politics, the Palestinians get their small but viable state next to Israel (which I am absolutely
certain would have to include the Islamic quarter of Old Jerusalem and the repatriation of most of the Jewish settlers), the kind of mentally ill fanatics who
make up al Qaeda and other similar terrorist groups worldwide will not stop threatening and sometimes harming the rest of humanity.
Unless we wipe out classical poverty and diminish the amount of crime and corruption that make the lives of the working classes miserable, we will always
have to contend with terrorism.
Unfortunately, the world does not have much time left. We may already have come to the point where the instability created is too great to prevent
eventual total social meltdown and thus extremely violent and destructive chaos and anarchy.
No, the enemy is not any one religion, race, or totalitarian political ideology. The enemy is to be found within all religions, forms of racism and totalitarian
political ideologies.
Religion was meant to be good and was meant to protect life and teach about love, about the God of Love and the Love of God. But religion has gone
astray, or has been hijacked by unscrupulous clergy.
Racism is genetically unhealthy and only makes its adherents idiots.
Political totalitarianism is illogical and self-destructive.
The answer lies in the creation of a fresh, new world philosophy, one that truly abides by the principles of democracy, freedom and respect for human
rights.
And that is where my philosophical method of mass infinity (read: Big Picture) awareness comes into play.
I have an answer (the only answer as I see it). A method for the dramatic diminishment of ignorance, ie narrow-minded, short-term oriented shallow
thinking, and thus the elevation of wisdom, ie open-minded, long-term oriented deep thinking.
So far, too few are willing to consider it and none have yet implemented it on a sufficiently meaningful basis.
I used to wonder why, but as the years have passed I have come to realize that the very people most able to provide the means to promote my ideas are
themselves among the most ever-more skeptical types and are unable to appreciate something that is both so simple and yet so obvious; the world has
not been educated to think wisely, for wisdom threatens the interests of those who sell junk rather than quality and false hope instead of fair opportunity.
If the world wants a real and meaningful solution to ending terrorism, in all its despicable forms, then it should apply my method as soon as possible.
Otherwise, I fear the end of civilization is near and a New Dark Age (as my late friend Isaac Asimov used to say) may take hold.
Jean-Pierre Ady Fenyô, is an internationally-recognized philosopher currently residing in Budapest whose main work is on the penultimate positive social
benefits of contemplating the infinite.

The Social Psychological Aspect of The Concept of Infinity
As stated in my first published work, "Infinitism: Secret Key To The Doors of Wisdom", Copyright 1994 Fenyo, Library of Congress:
"The ultimate concept for non-violent mass social psychological change is the concept of infinity."
I also stated that 'no other concept has the ability to diminish narrow-minded, short-term shallow thinking as much as that of infinity. And that in order to
bring about a world of True Enlightenment, of science in harmony with spiritual sentiment(s), we need to disseminate the concept of infinity in as many
ways as possible to as many people as possible. Only then will the world become sufficiently open-minded, long-term oriented and deep thinking or
wise, so as to allow for democracy to work for the benefit of all. The initial intense insecurity and fear of infinity eventually becomes a sense of universal
love, infinite uniqueness and tolerance towards tolerant others. If the world's leaders and intellectuals want to give rise to a world based on the deepest
respect for quality life for all of humanity, if they want non-violent methods of social change to become overwhelmingly preferred, if they want a world
free of extremism and insensitive, quantity oriented (as opposed to quality oriented) commercial monopolism then they must introduce the concept of
infinity to the masses. And one of the most effective methods would be large, strategically-placed billboards with starscaped images and the words:
Have you thought about infinity today? (TM) The reality of no beginning and no end to space, time and change! Open your mind and heart to the awe
and mystery of it all... . This is exactly what I and my Society for the Dissemination of The Concept of Infinity have been seeking to achieve. INFINITY
has penultimate practical social and scientific implications.

REPLY:
I completely accept the existence of infinity, but I find your conclusions about social improvement in human behavior concerning the belief in the
concept as being absurd. If everything is infinite then humans hold no special place within it except in our own minds. Our little niche of existence, which
we humans perceive in time and space, is so insignificant compared to the concept of infinity, we create an illusion of reality for ourselves using our
limited senses for perception to give us balance, purpose and meaning in life. While you expect order to arise from your transformation in beliefs, you
have just as much chance of creating chaos. Sadly, it's not part of human nature to be open-minded and free thinking, those that are are the
exceptions, religious beliefs flourish because of our fear of the unknown, and wanting someone else to tell us it will all be okay if we just follow the rules.
We are, afterall, just social animals with a herd mentality, we haven't yet evolved into a life-form of high enough intelligence to over come our false
pride, greed and penchant for violence. At least not here and now in this niche of infinity.
