Jewish American Peace Talk
An independent NGO dedicated to the proposition that true peace
begins with using the right words and that using the wrong words
(terminology, stereotypes, etc.) is very dangerous and threatens efforts
to prevent global conflict and bring about lasting peace between
Muslims and non-Muslims, between Jews, Christians and Muslims and
between Muslim Arabs and Jewish Israelis. Words such as those listed
below (e.g. "Islamo-Fascists") are not only incorrect and offensive, but
perpetuate false public opinions that fuel conflict rather than resolve
conflict, and which threaten to cause or worsen existing wars.

Our general stance:

"Just because a person or group of people claim to be of a specific
religion or political orientation does not make it so!"

"The reality of who one really is must ultimately be decided and defined
by what the majority, of those who call themselves such, think."

"Terrorism of any kind is anathema to true Islam, Christianity and
Judaism. Sudden, unexpected acts of violence against unarmed,
defenseless people is not only cowardly and unacceptable by all
standards of human decency, but always, without fail, backfires! The
only way for a person or group of people to get the fair minimum of
what they claim to deserve is by methods of non-violent conflict
resolution, of compromise and cooperation, whereby neither side of any
conflict will get everything they think they deserve, but at least both
sides will get enough to survive and build a better future, side by side,
as respectful neighbors. History is full of injustices, but if we are to ever
bring about a time when no further injustices happen, we must start by
thinking of all persons, all individuals and groups, with few obvious
exceptions (such as anti-social Nazis, Fascists, racists and others
whose ideals are based on perpetuating hate and violence), as One
World that MUST live together in Unity-In-Diversity! Only in a world
where religions respect one another, and respect the full right of all
persons to choose their own religion or even to choose none, where
differences, including those pertaining to sexual identity, are respected
and where no religion or group has the right to impose their will on any
one person or group of people in those communities and nations where
secular law has been the choice of the people, can peace prevail. For
true tolerance and unity-in-diversity to work every nation must allow for
the creation of at least one viable community or region where secular
laws are insured and individual rights are fully protected. Without
compromise and cooperation, without tolerance within reason and
without diversity within reason, there will never be lasting peace and
prosperity."

Here is a short list of some of the words and terms we seek to
discourage and dissuade the media from using when referring to
pseudo-Islamic, pseudo-Christian and pseudo-Jewish entities, such as
terrorists and extremists:

"Islamo Fascist(s)"

"Islamists"

"Racist Zionists"

"Islamic Terrorists"

"Islamic Fundamentalists"

"Jewish Extremists"

"Christiano-Fascist(s)"

CLICK HERE to find out WHY these words, terms are incorrect when
applied to terrorists and extremists, and WHY they are offensive to
relatively true Muslims, Christians and Jews.

CLICK HERE to find out WHY it is important to prevent the current
crisis between faiths from becoming a final, genocidal-suicidal
worldwide (Apocalyptic) conflict between Muslims, Christians and Jews.

CLICK HERE to find out what we think can be done to put an end to the
violent conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, Arab Muslims and
Israeli Jews. (< coming soon).

We also seek to work on a number of other related issues, concerning
inappropriate and offensive use of words, terms, and
stereotype-re-enforcing language & communications, as well as the
need to be sensitive to the religious sentiments and convictions of
people from all major and/or established religions, spiritual teachings,
philosophies and ethical systems.
